Veedersburg - Carl W. Haines, 67 of Rt 3, a retired employee of Harrison Steel Casting Company at Attica died at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill.  Mr. Haines had worked in the steel industry 40 years before his retirement. Mr. Haines had worked in the steel industry 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of Prairie Creek Baptist church. Born Oct 9, 1907, at Logansport, he was the son of Arthur and Minta Miller Haines. He was married to Nellie Fouts on April 14, 1926, at Crawfordsville. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Marlee) Potter of Veedersburg and Mrs. Sam (Jean) Swingle of Willard, Ohio and three grandchildren.  Services at Parham Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Harry Hybarger officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.
